Booth’s Types

Tipos de Stand

In the Exhibition Industry generally, there can be two kind of booths: Custom Booths and booths with prefabricated profiles, usually called system or modular booths; on the last ones there are octagonal, square, curved, tridilosa or other profiles, generally presenting an ASSEMBLED SYSTEM because those are PREFRABRICATED.

What is a System/Modular booth?

The “system” or “modular” booths are those manufactured mainly with aluminum profiles. The System/Modular booths imply a model of solid construction in its manufacture. There are different brands, models, sizes, shapes, etc. But the constant is that those are prefabricated mechanishm that usually have standarized measures.

System booths usually have some restrictions in flexibility terms, since they have their scope established since its manufacture.
Is possible to make highly creative proposals with system booths, usually these booths are benefical in their price due to their versatility. Another benefit of this kind of booths is that are faster to assemble than the rest, since everything is “prefabricated”.

A DisplayArt’s Modular booth consist of aluminum profiles that are constantly renewed, since DisplayArt has the dice that allow the extraction of aluminum for our profiles. As manufacturers of aluminum and the system itself, is possible to have aluminum in good condition permanently.

The posts of DisplayArt’s System Booths are octagonals and configured with heights of 2.44m, 3m, 4m, 4.5m and 5m in one piece. made of anodized matt aluminum at 10 microns.

The DisplayArt’s System booths crossbars range from 10 centimeters up to 6.5 meters in length, with matt finished and anodized at 10 micros.

For DisplayArt’s System Booths we also have curves, bringing about a development that goes from 45 cm, to 3 and 6 meters each.

How is installed a System/modular booth?

Generally, these booths have a female/male assemblage system, reinforced by a clamping tool. Tthe greater the pressure exerted by the tool, the more joined the profiles remain although not too much force should be applied as it can destroy de assembly system. Usually Allen wrenches are used as well as so-called “matracas”, also screwdrivers or sometimes, system’s exclusive tools.

In general the profiles have a slot in wich the panel enters to be framed by the profiles. On this panels will be adapted the graphic, logo, photograph or information. In these slots are also installed attachments to set-up the covers, shelves, crystals, light boxes or other elements.

This is the general principle of all System booths. The proposal developer’s creativity is fundamental to achieve a highly differentiated scheme.

Some of the materials involved in System booths, can be: polypropylene /coroplast, polycarbonate, trovicel, MDF’s or thin melamine, among other substrates to be used as paneling. Over these is possibleto place graphics , solid colors, inlays, vinyl, among others, wich are the ones that will show the decoration.

What is a DisplayArt’s Custom Booth?

Custom Booths are those manufactured mainly in wood, MDF or flexible and fully customizable materials. Among the main features of these booths, stands out the possibility of building almost any idea, due to that it will perform a total raw material transformation to turn it into a single large project.

Among the main materials involved in the Custom Booths we’d like to stand out (besides of the ones just mentioned) the painting (lacquer or vinyl), blacksmithing, tempered crystals as facades, alter acrylics, as well as all kinds of pantone textures or colors.

Within the Custom Booths it’s common to find the Concept Booths, wich are highly themed and very creative. However, the use of this exhibition resource has directly to do with the branding strategy of the client.

When using a Custom booth there is a perception of greater authenticity and exclusivity, due in great measure to the fact that every space is manufactured with a specific goal. Custom Booths require more investment than a System Booth, due to specialized workmanship and the outstanding technologyc tools required.

How is assembled/installed a Custom Booth?

In order to carry out the successful assembly of Custom Booths, is necessary to have enough experience in the field, since it is mostly “handcrafted” process that depends on specialized labor able to handle tools and materials, knowing their behaviors, resistance and limitations. Usually experts in different areas such as carpenters, blacksmiths, acrylics, electricians, plumbers (in some cases) and more specific professions, according to the project, are required. Succeed with Custom Booths depends on the training, tools, experience and ability to discern between what is feasible and what is not likely, as design proposals don´t consider aspects of production and unnecessary risks.
